Rear Tailgate Latch Lock (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Open the rear hatch.

2. Remove the rear floor panel extension.

3. Unscrew the bolts securing the latch retainer.

4. Pull out the lock retainer.

Installation procedure

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

1. Install the latch retainer and tighten the bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the tailgate latch retainer bolts to 10 Nm (88 lbs.in).

2. Install the rear floor panel extension.

3. Close the rear hatch.
