Tailgate exterior handle (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the lower rear hatch trim panel. See "Lower trim of the rear hatch" in this section.



3. Disconnect the electrical connector.

4. Loosen the nuts and remove the outer handle of the rear hatch.

Installation procedure

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

1. Install the outer tailgate handle and tighten the nuts.

Tighten

Tighten the nuts of the outer tailgate handle to 3 N·m (27 lbs.in).

2. Connect the electrical connector.

3. Remove the lower rear hatch trim panel. See "Lower trim of the rear hatch" in this section.



4. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
