Rear Tailgate Glass Pillar (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Raise and support the rear hatch glass in the open position.

2. Use a small flat blade tool to lift and partially release the spring clips on the strut.

3. Disconnect the upper end of the rack from the hinge.

4. Disconnect the lower end of the rack from the hinge.

5. Remove the pillar from the rear hatch glass.

Installation procedure

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

1. Install the stand on the rear hatch glass.

2. Attach the top end of the stand to the hinge. Press it down to fully seat it.

3. Attach the lower end of the stand to the hinge. Press it down to fully seat it.

4. Remove the support from under the rear hatch glass.

5. Close the rear hatch glass.
