Windscreen wiper unit (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the screws and the left side of the air intake grille. See section 9R, "Front Body Part".



3. Remove the windshield wiper motor bolts.

4. Remove the windshield wiper arm linkage from the drive shaft of the electric motor.

5. Disconnect the windshield wiper assembly electrical connector from the motor.



6. Remove the bolts and wiper motor.

Installation procedure

Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.

1. Install the windshield wiper motor using bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the windshield wiper motor bolts to 4 Nm (35 lbs.in).

2. Connect the electrical connector.



3. Place the wiper arm linkage onto the drive shaft of the electric motor.

4. Install the wiper arm linkage to the drive shaft of the electric motor using bolts.

Tighten

Tighten the wiper arm linkage nut to 10 Nm (89 lb-ft).

5. Install the left part of the air intake grille in place.

6. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
