Removal procedure



1. Relieve pressure in the coolant system.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Disconnect the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor connector.

Note: Handle the coolant temperature sensor with care. A damaged sensor will affect the performance of the fuel injection system.


4. Remove the coolant temperature (ECT) sensor from the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve adapter.

Installation procedure



1. Lubricate the ECT sensor threads with sealant.

2. Install the coolant temperature (ECT) sensor to the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve adapter.

Tighten

Tighten the coolant temperature sensor to 20 Nm (15 ft·lbs).

3. Connect the ECT sensor connector.

4. Fill the engine cooling system.

5. Connect the negative battery cable.
