Removal procedure

Caution! The fuel system is under pressure. Before disconnecting the fuel lines, relieve the pressure in the fuel supply system to avoid fuel spillage and burns.

1. Relieve pressure in the fuel supply system. See "Relieving pressure in the fuel supply system" in this section.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

3. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector.

4. Loosen the clamp and disconnect the air filter outlet hose from the resonator.

9. Connect the fuel injector connectors.

10. Remove the fuel rail mounting bolts.

Note: Before removal, the fuel rail assembly can be cleaned with an aerosol cleaner according to the instructions for use. Do not immerse the fuel rails in solvent. Remove the fuel rail carefully, avoiding damage to the electrical connectors and injector tips. Do not allow dirt or other contaminants to enter open pipes and channels. Fittings should be covered with caps and openings with plugs during maintenance.

Important: If the injector separates from the rail and remains in the cylinder head, replace the sealing ring and clamp.
