Checking fuel pressure (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

DW100-010 Fuel Pressure Gauge

Verification procedure



Caution! The fuel system is under pressure. Before disconnecting the fuel lines, relieve the pressure in the fuel supply system to avoid fuel spillage and burns.


1. Relieve pressure in the fuel supply system. See "Relieving pressure in the fuel supply system" in this section.

2. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail.

2. Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel rail.


3. Connect the liquid fuel pressure gauge connector to the fuel rail.

3. Connect the liquid fuel pressure gauge connector to the fuel rail.


4. Connect the liquid fuel pressure gauge connector to the fuel supply line.

4. Connect the liquid fuel pressure gauge connector to the fuel supply line.


5. Check for fuel leaks.



6. Read the DW100-010 fuel pressure gauge. Normal fuel pressure is between 402 kPa (58.3 psi) and 418 kPa (60.6 psi)

7. Relieve pressure in the fuel system.

8. Remove the fuel pressure gauge DW100-010

9. Connect the fuel supply line to the fuel rail.

10. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
