Electronic Engine Management System (EEMS) Controller (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose from the intake air duct.

2. Loosen the clamps and disconnect the intake air duct from the MAF sensor assembly and throttle body.

3. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector.

3. Disconnect the engine control module (ECM) connector.


4. Loosen the ECM bracket mounting nuts.

5. Remove the ECM controller together with the bracket from the battery shelf.

6. Unfasten the clamps securing the ECM to the bracket and separate the ECM from the bracket.

Installation procedure



1. Install the ECM controller onto the bracket.

2. Install the ECM controller together with the bracket on the battery shelf.

Tighten

Tighten the ECM bracket nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb-ft).

Tighten the ECM bracket nuts to 15 N·m (11 lb-ft).


3. Connect the ECM connectors.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

Caution: If the ECM has been replaced, reprogram the ECM and reset the oil expiration date.
