You will need: a 13 mm wrench, pliers, and a flat-blade screwdriver.

1. Grasp with pliers...

2. ...and remove the pushrod pin retaining washer.

3. Remove the pin from the fork and pedal holes. Disconnect the clutch release master cylinder push rod from the clutch pedal.
4. Unscrew the two nuts that secure the clutch release drive master cylinder to the pedal bracket (see point 8 "Replacing the clutch release master cylinder").
Note: There is no need to disconnect the hose and tube from the master cylinder, just carefully remove the cylinder flange from the bracket studs.

5. Unscrew the five nuts securing the pedal bracket to the front body shield...

Note: This is how the nuts for attaching the bracket to the front shield are located (for clarity, shown with the steering column removed).

6. ...and remove the pedal assembly.

7. Use a screwdriver to pry up the spring clip of the pedal axle...

8. ...and take it off.

9. Remove the pedal axle and remove the pedal, disengaging it from the return spring.

10. If necessary, remove the return spring by pulling its bent end out of the hole in the pedal bracket.
11. Install the parts in the reverse order of removal. Before installing the pedal into the bracket, lubricate the pedal axle with grease.
