- remove the steering shaft bracket as directed in section «Steering»;
- Disconnect the pusher of the vacuum booster from the brake pedal by removing the retaining clip 9 (pic. 6-8) and taking out the finger 8;

- disconnect the wires from the brake light switch;
- unscrew the nuts securing the pedal bracket to the body bulkhead, vacuum booster and instrument panel, remove the bracket assembly with the clutch and brake pedals.
Install in reverse order. At the same time, make sure that the pusher is installed correctly in the socket on the piston of the clutch master cylinder.
Disassembly and assembly. For disassembly, remove locking bracket 6 from pin 11, remove pin 11 and remove pedal 4 together with bushings 2 and 5 and spring 3.
Reassemble in reverse order. When assembling, lubricate fingers 8 and 11, pedal bushings, spring ends, and the connection points of the vacuum booster pusher with the finger with Litol-24 grease.
Check and repair. When the pedal is hard to move, inspect the working surfaces of the pedal, bushings and pin 11.
If shallow scratches or traces of oxidation are found on the surfaces of metal parts, wipe them with sandpaper; Replace worn outer plastic pedal bushings with new ones.
Check up elasticity of a spring 3. At its easing — replace it.
