We remove the parking brake lever for replacement.
Both cables should be replaced at the same time. We show the replacement of the left cable.
Move the parking brake lever to its lowest position.
Remove the rear shoe of the parking brake mechanism and disconnect the cable from it (see Replacing the parking brake pads).

On the inside of the brake mechanism shield, the end of the cable sheath is secured with a fixing bracket.

Using pliers, remove the retaining clip.

Using a 13 mm socket head, unscrew the two bolts securing the cable brackets.

We remove the cable from the holder on the body.

We remove the cable from the guide tube of the brake mechanism shield.

We remove the front end of the cable sheath from the guide bushing welded to the body bottom bracket.

We remove the front end of the cable from the equalizer slot... ...and remove the cable.
Similarly, we remove the right cable of the parking cable.
We install the cables in the reverse order.
Note that the cables cross in front of the guide bushings.
After replacing the cables, adjust the parking brake (see Adjusting the parking brake).
To remove the parking brake lever, remove the rear part of the floor tunnel trim (see Removal the rear section of the floor tunnel trim).

Disconnect the wiring harness from the parking brake indicator switch.
Move the parking brake lever to its lowest position.

Using a high 12 mm socket, unscrew the adjusting nut.

Using a 12 mm socket head, unscrew the four bolts securing the lever to the body.

Remove the parking brake lever.
We install the parking brake lever in the reverse order.

When tightening the adjusting nut, its cylindrical part should enter the retainer (for clarity, shown on a removed lever).
Adjust the parking brake (see Adjusting the parking brake).
