We hang up the front part of the car and securely fix the car on factory-made stands. We remove the front wheels and the intermediate pipe of the exhaust system (see Removal the intermediate pipe). Remove the rear support of the power unit (see Replacing the powertrain mounts).
We remove the ball joint pins from the steering knuckle eyes (see Removal the lever).

Using a 10 mm socket, unscrew the bolt securing the power steering drain line tube.
Disconnect the anti-roll bar struts from the anti-roll bar (see Removal the anti-roll bar). The subframe can be removed together with the steering mechanism or by first separating them.
First, we will show a method in which the steering mechanism remains in place. Unscrew the two bolts and two nuts that secure the steering mechanism to the subframe (see Removal the steering gear).
We place an adjustable stop under the subframe.

On the left side of the car, using a 17 mm socket head, unscrew the bolt securing the rear subframe to the body.
Similarly, unscrew the bolt of the rear subframe mount on the right side of the car.

Using a 19 mm socket with an extension, unscrew the front subframe mount nut through the hole in the left suspension arm.
Similarly, unscrew the nut of the front subframe mount on the right side.
We lower the subframe slightly on the stop.

We remove the steering mechanism from the subframe studs and hang it on a cord to the gearbox control rod.

Having lowered the stop, we remove the subframe assembly with the levers and the anti-roll bar.

The subframe can also be removed together with the steering mechanism.
In this case, you will need to disconnect the power steering pipes from the steering mechanism (drain liquid), the steering rod ends from the steering knuckles and disconnect the intermediate shaft of the steering gear from the pinion shaft.
Having unscrewed the fastening elements, we remove the levers, the anti-roll bar and the steering mechanism from the subframe.

Using a 17 mm socket, unscrew the five bolts securing the cross member to the subframe…

…and remove the crossbar.
We assemble and install the subframe in the reverse order. We tighten the bolts and nuts of the subframe fastening to the prescribed torques (see Appendices).
