- drain the oil from the rear axle beam;
- raise the rear of the car, place it on stands and remove the wheels and brake drums;
- unscrew the nuts securing the brake shield to the beam and slide the axle shafts out so that they come out of the differential box;
- having disconnected the cardan shaft from the gearbox, place a support under the gearbox housing, unscrew the bolts securing it to the rear axle beam and remove the gearbox from the beam without damaging the gasket.
