Installing the gearbox (Chevrolet Niva 1)

Before installing the reduction gear, thoroughly clean the axle beam from oil. Place a sealing gasket on the mating surface, insert the reduction gear into the beam and secure with bolts. Pre-lubricate the bolt threads with sealant. Before applying sealant, thoroughly degrease the bolts and holes in the beam. Attach the cardan shaft to the reduction gear. Install the axle shafts and brake drums.

Install the wheel with the tire and screw on the wheel nuts without tightening them. After installing both wheels, remove the stands and lower the car; then tighten the wheel nuts with a torque wrench.

Fill the bridge beam with oil through the oil filler hole, after cleaning it and screwing the drain plug into the beam.
