Use a wheel wrench and ratchet lever to loosen all nuts. Turn the key counterclockwise, the lever should be turned towards you with the inscription DOWN. Don't remove the nuts yet.
If the rear wheel is worn, place the jack handle extension on the handle.
1. Place a jack under the vehicle. If the front wheel is worn, place a jack on the frame behind the wheel. If the rear wheel is worn, place a jack under the rear axle between the spring and damper.
2. With the UP mark towards you on the lever, raise the vehicle by turning the key and lever clockwise. Raise the vehicle just enough to make room for the spare tire.
3. Remove all nuts and remove worn wheel.
4. Wipe off rust and dirt from the bolts, then install the spare wheel on the bolts.
5. Fit the nuts, not the bolts, with rounded ends towards the wheel. Tighten each nut by hand and then with a wheel wrench until the wheel is pressed against the hub.
6. Lower the vehicle by turning the lever and wheel wrench counterclockwise. Lower the jack completely.
7. Tighten each nut clockwise.
8. Tighten the nuts tightly in a criss-cross pattern. Turn the wheel wrench clockwise.
9. Replace trim discs or plastic wrench caps on vehicles where fitted.
