Checking and replacing the gearbox mount (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

            0

1. Insert a large screwdriver or pry bar into the hole between the transmission bracket and the frame and try to push the transmission upward slightly.

2. The gearbox bracket should not noticeably detach from the frame.

3. To replace the mount, unscrew the nuts securing the cushion to the crossmember and the nuts securing the insulator to the gearbox (see illustrations).

4. Slightly lift the gearbox with a jack and remove the cushion, paying attention (for subsequent correct installation) on what holes are used in this case.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Make sure that the bolts and nuts are tightly tightened each time.
