1. Raise the vehicle and support it securely on stands.
2. Remove the axle shaft (see chapter 8, section 2).
3. Using a hammer and chisel, lift the outer edge of the cuff until it can be removed from the hole. The manufacturer recommends using a special hammer to remove the cuff.
4. Compare the new cuff with the old one to make sure they are identical.
5. Wet the edges of the new seal with transmission fluid.
6. Insert the new seal into the hole using a hammer, using a tube or socket head that has the same diameter as the outer edge of the seal.
7. Install all parts back into place in reverse order.
