General information on wheels and tires (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

            0

All vehicles described in this manual are equipped with radial tires with synthetic or steel cord (see illustration). Using other sizes or types of tires may affect vehicle handling. Do not install different types of tires (for example, with radial and diagonal cord) in one car. Tyres should be replaced on the same axle in pairs, but if only one tyre is replaced, make sure it is the same size, structure and cord construction as the other.

22.1. Designation of tire sizes

22.1. Designation of tire sizes

Since tire pressure affects tire performance and wear, it is important to check your tire pressure (see chapter 1).

If the wheel rims are bent, have air leaks, broken mounting bolt holes, are heavily rusted, lack vertical symmetry, or the wheel nuts cannot be tightened tightly, the wheels must be replaced.

To ensure the required handling characteristics of the vehicle, it is important to maintain wheel and tire balancing. Unbalanced wheels negatively affect handling and also the life of the tires. Every time a new tire is installed on a rim, the wheel must be balanced.
