Removal and installation the transverse jet rod (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

1. Loosen the rear wheel nuts, lift the vehicle, securely support it on stands and remove the rear wheels.

2. Raise the rear axle with a jack to its normal position.

3. Support the transverse reaction rod while you unscrew the bolt that secures the transverse reaction rod to the axle and the bolt that secures the transverse reaction rod to the frame (see illustrations).

4. Remove the transverse reaction rod. Check the bushings for signs of aging or cracks. Install new bushings if necessary.

5. Installation is carried out in reverse order. Be sure to tighten the upper and lower bolts to the torque specified in the specifications in this chapter.
