Fuel distribution pipe — removal and installation (3.8 l) (Chevrolet Lumina 1)

Caution: Relieve fuel system pressure before servicing injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail, fuel distributor or pressure regulator (see section 2).


Note: There is an eight-digit identification number stamped on the side of the fuel rail. Please refer to this number when making repairs (maintenance) or replacement of fuel distribution pipe parts.


32. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

33. Disconnect the air manifold (see item 22).

34. Disconnect the fuel lines at the fuel distribution pipe (see section 4).

35. Disconnect the vacuum line at the regulator.

36. Mark and disconnect the injector electrical connectors.

37. Remove the bolts holding the fuel distribution pipe.

38. Carefully remove the fuel distribution pipe with injectors (see illustration).

Caution: Handle the fuel rail assembly with care to avoid damage.
