Instrument panel (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

The instrument panel displays basic information about the operating modes and condition of the vehicle. It contains a tachometer, speedometer, fuel level and coolant temperature indicators, an information display and various control lamps.

When the ignition is turned on, diagnostics of the vehicle systems occurs. The control lamps light up and go out after a few seconds or after the engine starts. If any indicator lamp does not light when the ignition is turned on, this means that either the lamp or the corresponding system is faulty - to understand what exactly, it is necessary to carry out diagnostics of the car at a specialized service station using a scanner. The instrument panel cannot be repaired and if any element is faulty, it is replaced as an assembly.

Note: All instruments and control lamps of the instrument panel (except for the door opening indicator lights, the luggage compartment door indicator light and the external lighting indicator light) work only when the ignition is on (ignition key ON position).

Note: All instruments and control lamps of the instrument panel (except for the door opening…

1 — Electric power steering malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up after the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If it turns on while driving and the force on the steering wheel increases noticeably, the electric power steering may have overheated - stop, turn off the engine, open the hood and let the power steering cool down. If after starting a cooled engine the control lamp lights up again, the power supply circuit may be broken or the electric power steering needs to be calibrated - contact a specialized service station;

Warning! Drive with the power steering not working carefully and at low speed. Do not forget that when this mechanism is faulty, the force on the steering wheel increases significantly!

2 — emergency oil pressure indicator lamp. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out after the engine starts. If the lamp lights up while the engine is running, this indicates insufficient oil pressure in the engine lubrication system - you must immediately stop the engine and take the car to a specialized service station for diagnostics and repairs;

3 - speedometer;

4 — Airbag system malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. If it lights up while the car is moving, the airbags are faulty;

5 — ESC stability control system indicator lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. When the system operates on a slippery surface, the lamp flashes. If this lamp remains continuously lit while the vehicle is moving, the system has been disabled due to a malfunction. This does not affect the operation of ABS and other systems - you can drive to a specialized service station for diagnostics and repairs;

6 — battery charge indicator lamp. Lights up when the ignition is turned on and goes out when the engine starts. If this lamp lights up while the engine is running, it means that the battery is not charging;

Warning! If the battery is not recharged, its charge will not last long (less than 10 km of the way). Therefore, it is necessary to find and eliminate the cause of the malfunction on site or, avoiding turning on unnecessary power consumers, move to a specialized service station.

7 — immobilizer control lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp remains on or flashes when the ignition is on, the system is faulty - the engine cannot be started;

8 - coolant temperature indicator;

9 — indicator lamp indicating the need for maintenance. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. Lights up when the next maintenance is due, and also in the event of a vehicle malfunction. In this case, a fault code is displayed on the information display;

10 — door open indicator light, lights up regardless of the position or presence of the key in the ignition switch;

11 — Low fuel level indicator lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. The lamp may flicker on an uneven road when there is little fuel left in the tank. When it lights up constantly, you need to urgently refuel the car;

Warning: Make sure that the fuel level in the tank never drops below the minimum level. When driving with a fuel tank less than ¼ full, the fuel pump may fail prematurely! If there is not enough fuel, the engine may run rough, which may cause the catalytic converter to fail!

12 — fuel level indicator in the tank;

13 — Anti-lock brake system (ABS) malfunction indicator lamp. Lights briefly when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp lights up while the vehicle is moving, the anti-lock braking system is faulty. It is necessary to contact a specialized service station for diagnostics and repair. In case of such a malfunction, you can get to the repair site on your own, since the braking system will work, but as in a car not equipped with ABS;

14 — control lamp indicating that the engine cannot be started. It lights up on a car with an automatic transmission if the driver forgets to press the brake pedal or tries to start the engine when the automatic transmission mode selector lever is not in the P or N position;

15 — Electronic Stability Control (ESC) deactivation indicator lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. Lights up continuously when ESC is off;

16 — traction control system deactivation indicator lamp. Lights up continuously when the system is off;

17 — parking radar malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up when the radar is faulty, the sensors are dirty, or external ultrasonic interference occurs;

18 — tachometer. Shows the current engine crankshaft speed (thousands of rpm). The red zone of the scale indicates the engine operating mode with an unacceptably high crankshaft speed;

19 — indicator lamp for rear fog lights;

20 — right turn signal indicator light;

21 — Rain sensor indicator light;

22 — fog light indicator lamp;

23 — Economy mode indicator lamp. Turns on when it is advisable to shift into a higher gear to save fuel;

24 - Information display;

25 — driver's seat belt unfastened indicator light. Continuously on after ignition is turned on. After the movement starts, the lamp starts flashing. Goes out after the driver fastens his seat belt;

26 — parking brake and brake system malfunction indicator lamp. Lights up briefly when the ignition is turned on. If the lamp does not go out, check the position of the parking brake lever. If it is completely released, or the indicator lamp lights up while the car is moving, it means that the brake fluid level in the brake system reservoir and clutch hydraulic drive has dropped (for a car with a manual transmission) or there is a malfunction in the service brake system;

Warning! It is prohibited to operate the vehicle with the brake system malfunction indicator lamp on! The vehicle may only be transported on a tow truck or towed using the partial loading method.

27 — high beam indicator lamp;

28 — side light indicator lamp;

29 — left turn signal indicator light;

30 — Engine control system malfunction indicator lamp. When the ignition is turned on, it lights up for a few seconds. If the indicator light remains on or comes on while the vehicle is moving, this indicates a malfunction in the engine management system. To determine the causes, it is necessary to perform diagnostics of the engine management system;

31 — cruise control system indicator lamp.
