Car storage (Chevrolet Orlando 1)

            0

What qualities should an ideal parking space have? Obviously, it should be comfortable, safe, and also protect the car from bad weather. So what should you choose: a garage or an open area near the house?

The simplest option is a parking lot next to the entrance. But keeping your car outdoors is not the best option, as it is exposed to weather conditions (sun, rain, snow, hail, etc.). In addition, due to the many cars parked tightly in the yards, minor damage to the body often occurs. Finally, your four-wheeled assistant may become the target of vandals, hooligans and car thieves.

But in any case, it is better than leaving the car on the side of the road. In addition to the dangers already listed, a car parked on the side of the road is at risk of being seriously damaged in a traffic accident.

A paid open parking lot, where the car is constantly under supervision, can help the situation. To protect against precipitation, you can use a breathable cover or install an awning, which is not possible in the yard.

The next most affordable option is a metal or concrete box. It's good if there is a covering on the floor (crushed stone, timber decking or concrete pouring). This is probably the best solution for short-term parking (for example, at night). However, if you need to leave the car for a long period of time (more than a month), it is necessary to take into account that temperature changes and humidity from the soil (in conditions of insufficient ventilation) will gradually lead to the appearance of condensation and rapid aging of the car.

The most expensive option is a dry, heated and well-ventilated garage. It is well suited for long-term storage and short-term parking in the summer. However, in winter there is a constant temperature difference (when entering and exiting a warm garage onto a cold street and back) leads to the formation of condensation and accumulation of moisture in the hidden cavities of the car, and this, in turn, creates conditions for the formation of corrosion.

After driving on city streets covered with chemical reagents, be sure to wash your car before putting it in the garage for a long time (more than a week) time. This will keep it in good condition and extend the life of the body and paintwork.
