1. Taking into account the complexity of these works, as well as the need to use special equipment, it is recommended to entrust the maintenance of valves, seats and guides to specialists from auto repair shops.
2. During the work, valves and springs are removed, valves and their seats are machined or replaced, guides are processed, valve springs, holders and crackers are inspected and replaced (if necessary), replacing valve seats, assembling the valve mechanism and checking the installation height of the springs. If necessary, the surface of the cylinder head is machined. It should be noted that some heads have a minimum allowable height, so instead of machining in this case, replacement must be done.
3. After the valves are serviced in the workshop, the cylinder head acquires the characteristics of a new element. Before installation on the engine, the head must be thoroughly cleaned: remove all metal and abrasive particles that may remain after machining. It is recommended to blow out all lubrication and cooling passages, as well as bolt holes, with compressed air.
