1. Remove the front engine cover (see subsection 6).
2. Remove the oil pump cover and mark the gear position for proper reassembly later.
3. Remove the gears.
4. Remove the bypass plug, bypass valve and oil pump spring.
5. Install the new relief valve and spring, then tighten the plug to the specified torque.
6. Install the new oil pump with its gears positioned as noted during the removal procedure.
7. Install the oil pump cover and tighten the screws to the required torque.
8. Install the front engine cover.
