Contents: Removal ↧ Installation ↧

Removal

1. Remove the oil dipstick (see subsection 15).

2. Loosen the two upper A/C compressor bolts a few turns.

3. Loosen the front wheel nuts. Raise the front of the vehicle and support it on stands, then remove the front wheels.

4. Remove the protective panel located on the underside of the vehicle.

5. Remove the steering gear jumper (see chapter 11).

6. When performing the procedure on a four-wheel drive vehicle, it is necessary to remove the axle shafts and the intermediate shaft of the transmission (see chapter 8).

7. When performing the procedure on a four-wheel drive vehicle, it is necessary to disconnect the front propeller shaft from the differential gear flange (see chapter 8).

8. Drain the engine oil (see chapter 1).

9. Disconnect the transmission oil cooler lines from the clamps located on the side of the engine.

10. When performing the procedure on a four-wheel drive vehicle, it is necessary to unscrew the differential mounting bolts from the engine sump and tie it to the supporting element of the body with a thick wire or cable.

11. Remove the bolts that secure the oil pan to the gearbox casing, then remove the bolts that secure the oil pan to the cylinder block.

12. Install two bolts into the mounting holes of the tray. Carefully and gradually tighten the bolts until the oil pan separates from the cylinder block.

13. Clean the pan with solvent.

Note: To avoid damaging the tray, do not use power tools when cleaning it.

14. Inspect the tray for chips and cracks on the mating surface. Also inspect the drain hole threads.

Installation

15. Apply a 5mm thick bead of RTV sealant to the surface of the cylinder block that mates with the oil pan (do not apply sealant to the pan).

Note: The tray should be installed no later than 10 minutes after applying the sealant.

16. Place the pan on the cylinder block and secure it with bolts. First tighten the oil pan mounting bolts to the transmission housing, then tighten the mounting bolts to the cylinder block. Tighten the bolts to the specified torque.

17. The rest of the assembly is carried out in the reverse order of removal. Tighten all fasteners to the specified torques.

18. Replace the engine oil and filter and fill the crankcase with the required volume of oil of the appropriate type (see chapter 1).
