Crankcase ventilation system (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

            0

1. When the engine is running, some of the gases produced during fuel combustion break through the piston rings into the crankcase. Such gases are called crankcase gases. The crankcase ventilation (PCV) system is designed to reduce the level of toxic hydrocarbon impurities in the exhaust by bypassing the gases and fuel vapors that have broken through from the crankcase to the intake manifold, where they mix with the air charge before entering the combustion chambers

2. All models use a constant flow PCV system. The main element of the system is the PCV tube (see illustration). Fresh air is supplied to the engine through the ventilation tube from the intake air duct. Crankcase gases are removed from the crankcase through the PCV tube. The system does not require regular maintenance - you only need to inspect the tube connections and ensure that it does not crack or become depressurized in any other way.
