ECM Controller and Bracket (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the decorative cover. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".

3. Disconnect the ECM connectors.

4. Press the ECM retaining clip between the ECM and the bracket with a standard flat-head screwdriver and simultaneously pull the ECM up and out of the bracket.



5. Remove the ECM bracket.

Installation procedure

1. Install the ECM bracket.

Tighten

Tighten the ECM bracket mounting nuts to 15 N·m (11.1 ft·lbs).



2. Install the ECM controller.



3. Connect the ECM connectors.

Important: When replacing the ECM, reprogram the ECM using a scan tool.

• Set the service life of the engine oil
• Reset EEPROM values for ZFC (Zero fuel trim)
• Reset Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) EEPROM values
