Removal procedure



Attention! It is necessary to make sure that all components have cooled down. Then carry out the work.


1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the decorative cover. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".

3. Remove the air intake hoses and ducts. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".

4. Remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve and adapter. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".

5. Remove the glow plug heat shield.

6. Disconnect the glow plug wiring harness.

7. Remove the glow plug.



Note: If glow plugs #3 and #4 need to be removed, the turbocharger must first be removed.

Installation procedure



1. Install the glow plug.

Tighten

Tighten the glow plug to 9 Nm (79.7 lbs.in).

Tighten the glow plug to 9 Nm (79.7 lbs.in).


2. Install the glow plug heat shield.

Tighten

Tighten the glow plug heat shield bolt to 20 Nm (14.8 ft·lbs).

Tighten the glow plug heat shield nut (engine lift bracket mounting nut) up to 28 Nm (20.6 ft·lbs).

Tighten the glow plug heat shield nut (engine lift bracket mounting nut) up to 28 Nm (20.6  ft·lbs).
