Air injection system (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure


  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the decorative cover. See "Decorative cover" in this section.


  3. Remove the decorative cover. See «Decorative cover» in this section.


  4. Disconnect the MAF sensor connector (mass air flow).
  5. Remove the air cleaner assembly screws.
  6. Loosen the turbocharger inlet bolt and remove the clamp.
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly and turbocharger duct.
  8. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolts.
  9. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe.

  10. Remove the charge air cooler inlet pipe.

  11. Disconnect the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) hose and clamp from the turbocharger intake elbow.
  12. Remove the turbocharger intake elbow.
  13. Remove the turbocharger outlet port.
  14. Remove the clamps from the charge air cooler inlet/outlet and the clamp from the electronic throttle control (ETC) side
  15. Remove the charge air cooler inlet/outlet hoses.

Remove the charge air cooler inlet/outlet hoses.





Installation procedure


  1. Install the charge air cooler inlet/outlet hoses.
  2. Install the turbocharger intake elbow and outlet port.

  3. Install the turbocharger intake elbow and outlet port.

  4. Install the charge air cooler inlet pipe.
  5. Install the air cleaner assembly and turbocharger inlet duct.

Tighten the charge air cooler inlet pipe bolts to 8 N·m (70.8 lbs.in).

Tighten the air cleaner assembly screws to 6 Nm (53 ft·lbs). Tighten the turbocharger inlet bolt to 3 Nm (26.6 lbs.in).
