Charge air cooler (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



1. Discharge the air conditioning system, if equipped.

2. Remove the radiator grille guide. Follow section 9R, Front End.

3. Remove the radiator grille. Follow section 9R, Front End.

3. Remove the radiator grille. Follow section 9R, Front End.


4. Remove the lower engine shield. Follow section 9N, Frame and Underbody.

5. Remove the hood main latch support. Follow section 9R, Front End.

5. Remove the hood main latch support. Follow section 9R, Front End.


6. Remove the charge air cooler inlet/outlet hoses. See "Air injection system" in this section.

7. Remove the air conditioner condenser from the radiator. Follow section 7B, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Systems Control.

8. Remove the upper radiator bracket.


9. Loosen the charge air cooler bolts.

10. Remove the charge air cooler.

10. Remove the charge air cooler.


Installation procedure



1. Install the charge air cooler onto the radiator.

2. Tighten the charge air cooler bolts.

3. Install the upper radiator bracket.

Tighten



Tighten the charge air cooler bolts to 8.5 Nm (75.2 lbs.in).

Tighten the upper radiator bracket bolts to 20 Nm (14.8 ft·lbs).

Tighten the upper radiator bracket bolts to 20 Nm (14.8  ft·lbs).
