Removal
1. Disconnect the plastic caps from the quick connector. Pull the caps back along the tube.
2. Using the hook, pull out one of the open ends of the snap ring so that the snap ring can be rotated.

3. Rotate the retaining ring around the quick connector until the retaining ring is removed. Discard the ring.
4. Remove the engine oil cooler tube from the quick connector on the radiator.

5. Wash all parts in a suitable solvent and dry them with compressed air.
6. Check the condition of fittings, connectors, tubes and oil cooler. Look for damage or deformation. Replace defective parts.
Installation
Caution: Do not reinstall old snap rings. Do not install new snap ring by pressing on the ring.

1. Insert one of the open ends of the retaining ring into one of the slots in the quick disconnect fitting.

2. Rotate the retaining ring around the connector until all three ears are seated in the three grooves of the fitting.

3. Make sure that all three tabs of the retaining ring can be seen on the inside of the connector and that the retaining ring can move freely in the grooves.

4. Install the engine oil cooler tube into the quick connector until the locking ring clicks into place. Pull the tube to check for a secure connection.
Caution: When installing the plastic quick connector cover, do not press on the retaining ring.

5. Snap the plastic cover onto the quick connector.
Caution: When installing the plastic quick connector cover, do not press on the retaining ring.
6. Make sure the plastic cover is fully seated.
7. Make sure there is no gap between the cover and the fitting.

8. Check the engine oil level, add oil if necessary.
