Checking the forward clutch (C1) and direct clutch (C2) (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

1. Check the condition of the flange, disk and plate.

• Make sure that there is no wear or burnout on the sliding surface of the disc and plate. If the disc or plate is worn or burnout, replace them.

Important: Before replacement, soak new clutch discs in the automatic transmission fluid for at least 2 hours.

2. Check the condition of the forward clutch piston (C1) and the direct drive clutch (C2).

• Make sure that the valve ball is not stuck by shaking the piston.
• Check for leaks in the valve by applying compressed air.
