Disassembling the rear crankcase (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

1. Remove the feed pipe to the underdrive clutch (C3).
  • Remove 4 bolts and 2 clamps from the rear crankcase.

  • Use a screwdriver to remove the feed pipe to the downshift clutch (C3).

Important: Care must be taken not to damage the C3 feed pipe and rear crankcase.

2. Remove the thrust bearing race and sealing ring.
  • Remove the thrust bearing race from the rear crankcase.
  • Remove 3 sealing rings from the rear crankcase.

3. Remove the forward clutch accumulator (C1).


  • Remove 2 Torx bolts and remove the battery cover.
  • Remove the battery piston, spring, O-ring and O-ring from the battery cover.
