Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the gearbox from the vehicle. See Section 5B, "Five-Speed Manual Transmission".
3. Unscrew the bolts securing the pressure plate to the flywheel and remove the clutch pressure plate.

Important: When unscrewing the last bolt, it is necessary to hold the disc.

4. Remove the clutch slave disc from the flywheel.
Inspection Procedure - Clutch Driven Disc
1. Inspection
- Visually inspect the clutch working surfaces for wear or oiling.
- Check the spring for damage or looseness.
- Check the clutch slave disk for deformation or warping. If defects are found, install a new pressure plate and a new clutch disk.

2. Checking the driven clutch disc
- Measure the depth of the rivet head relative to the surface of the disc.
- If the measured distance is less than the permissible limit, install a new pressure plate and a new clutch disc.
- Rivet head countersink depth (minimum acceptable): 1.2 mm (0.047 inches)

Inspection Procedure - Clutch Pressure Plate
1. Check the pressure spring petals for wear.
2. Check the pressure plate surface for wear or cracking.
3. Check the disc surface for oiling. If defects are found, install a new pressure plate and a new clutch disc.

Installation procedure
1. Lubricate the splines in the clutch driven disk hub with universal grease.
2. Install the clutch and center the pressure and driven plates relative to the flywheel using a suitable tool.
Important: If the pressure plate or clutch disc needs to be replaced, replace both discs with new ones.
3. Screw in the bolts securing the pressure plate to the flywheel.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 28 Nm (21 ft·lbs).
4. Install the gearbox into the vehicle. See Section 5B, "Five-Speed Manual Transmission".
5. Connect the cable to the negative terminal of the battery.
