Clutch master cylinder assembly (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure



Before disconnecting the hose from the clutch hydraulic system reservoir, the fluid should be drained from the reservoir.

1. Remove the locking clamp from the clutch pedal.

2. Remove the push rod from the clutch pedal.

2. Remove the push rod from the clutch pedal.


3. Remove the clamp securing the hose to the master cylinder fitting.

4. Remove the hose from the master cylinder fitting.

4. Remove the hose from the master cylinder fitting.


5. Disconnect the master cylinder pipe.

6. Loosen the master cylinder mounting nuts.



7. Remove the master cylinder.

Installation procedure



1. Install the clutch master cylinder and secure it with nuts.

Tighten

Tighten the master cylinder mounting nuts to 23 Nm (17 ft·lbs).

2. Connect the master cylinder pipe.

2. Connect the master cylinder pipe.


3. Place the hose onto the master cylinder nipple.

4. Attach the hose clamp to the master cylinder fitting.

5. Insert the push rod into the clutch pedal.

6. Install the locking clamp on the clutch pedal.

7. Remove air from the hydraulic system. See "Removing air from the hydraulic drive system" in this section.

8. Add liquid to the tank to the required level.
