Type 1
Caution: Before performing repair work, turn the ignition switch to the "OFF" or "LOCK" position and turn off all electrical loads, except as necessary to perform repair work. If tools or devices may come into contact with electrical contacts during repair work, also disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the storage battery. Failure to do so may result in injury, damage to the vehicle or vehicle systems.
1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the instrument cluster bezel.
3. Using a small screwdriver, detach the CD player clips.
4. Disconnect the connectors.
5. Remove the CD player.
6. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Type 2
Caution: Do not pull on the CD player cover when removing the center console bezel.
1. Loosen the screws securing the center panel bezel.
2. Using a slotted screwdriver, disconnect the center panel bezel retaining clips.
3. Remove the center panel bezel.
4. Using a small screwdriver, release the CD player clips.
5. Slide the CD player towards you and remove it.
6. Disconnect the connectors.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
Models produced since 2003.
1. Remove the instrument cluster bezel.
2. Using a flat-blade screwdriver, press the center console latches.
3. Remove the center console.
4. Disconnect the connectors.
5. Remove the center console bezel.
6. Remove the CD player.
7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
