CD player

When a CD is inserted, the display switches to the infotainment system and "Checking File" is displayed as each CD is loaded.

When playback starts, the track title and number appear on the display.

If you turn off the ignition or the infotainment system when there is a CD in the player, the CD remains in the player. If you turn on the ignition when there is a CD in the player, you must turn on the infotainment system to play the CD. When you turn on the ignition and the infotainment system, the CD resumes playing from where it stopped if it was the last selected audio source.

Small 8 cm CDs can be played using an adapter ring. Full-size CDs and small CDs are loaded in the same way.

When playing a CD-R disc, the sound quality depends on the quality of the disc, the recording method, the quality of the music being recorded, and the condition of the disc used. Tracks may skip, tracks may not be searchable, and/or loading and unloading may be difficult. If such problems occur, check the working surface of the CD. If the surface of the CD is damaged, such as cracked, broken, or scratched, the disc will not play correctly.

If the surface of the CD is dirty, refer to the CD care instructions.

If there is no visible damage, try another good quality disc.

Do not stick labels on the CD, it may get stuck in the player. If you record a disc on a personal computer and need to label it, you should write on the non-working side of the disc with a marker.

Note: Sticking labels on the CD, inserting more than one CD into the player at the same time, or attempting to play a damaged CD may cause the player to malfunction. When using the CD player, only play discs in good condition without labels, load one disc at a time, and do not place foreign objects, liquids, or debris on the player or near the loading slot.

If an error message appears on the display, see below "CD Messages" (player messages).

Play MP3/WMA CD

MP3/WMA format

When recording a disc in MP3/WMA format on a personal computer:
  • Burn MP3/WMA files to CD-R disc.
  • Do not record standard audio and MP3/WMA files on the same disc.
  • MP3/WMA files must have the extension.mp3 or.wma, the player does not work with other extensions.
  • Files can be recorded at different fixed bit rates. The infotainment system can display the song title, artist name and album title recorded as ID3 version 1 and 2 tags.
  • Create a filing system that makes it easy to find songs on the go. Organize your songs into albums, with one folder per album. Each folder or album should contain no more than 18 songs.
  • A multi-session MP3/WMA disc must be finalized. It is usually better to burn the entire disc.

The player can read and play up to 50 folders, 5 sessions, 999 files.

Long file and folder names use more hard disk space than necessary. To save disk space, limit the length of file and folder names. You can play a disc recorded in MP3/WMA format without using file packs. The system supports up to 8 folder levels, but it is recommended to keep the number of folder levels to a minimum so as not to make it too difficult to find a specific folder during playback. If a CD contains more than the allowed 50 folders, 5 sessions, and 999 files, the player allows access to and navigation on the disc up to the last allowed file, and all positions above the maximum are ignored.

Root directory

The root directory is treated as a folder. If the root directory contains compressed audio files, the directory will be designated ROOT. All files located in the root directory will be accessed first.

Empty directory or empty folder

If the root directory or folder is somewhere in a file structure that contains only folders and subfolders without any compressed files directly in them, the player moves on to the next folder containing compressed audio files, and the empty folder is not displayed or assigned a number.

Missing folder

If the CD contains only compressed files, the files are placed in the root folder.

If the CD is recorded without folders, the function to go to the next and previous folder does not work.

The folder name in this case is displayed on the infotainment system display as "ROOT".

If the CD contains only compressed files and no folders, all files are placed in the root folder. The folder name is then displayed on the infotainment system display as "ROOT".

Playback order

Tracks are played in the following order:
  • Playback starts from the first track in the root directory.
  • After all tracks in the root directory have been played, the files are played in the order of their numbers.
  • After playing the last track from the last folder, the player plays the first track in the first folder of the root directory again.

File system and names

The song title is displayed in ID3 tag format. If the song title is not in ID3 tag format, the infotainment system displays the file name without extension (MP3/WMA).

Track names longer than 32 characters or 4 pages are truncated. The display does not show parts of words on the last page of text or the file name extension.

Play MP3/WMA files

With the ignition on, insert a CD into the player slot with the label facing up. The disc will be drawn in automatically, then it will load and check the files, then the display will show MP3 or WMA. The CD should start playing. It is not possible to insert a disc into the player if the battery is disconnected.

When a new track starts playing, the track number and song title appear on the display.

Small 8cm CDs can be played using an adapter ring.

Full size CDs and mini CDs load the same way.

When playing a CD-R disc, the sound quality depends on the quality of the disc, the recording method, the quality of the recorded music, and the condition of the disc used. Track skipping, difficulty finding tracks, and/or loading and unloading difficulties are possible. If such problems occur, check the working surface of the compact disc.

If the surface of the CD is damaged (cracks, breakage or scratches), the disc will not play properly.

Note: Sticking labels on the CD, inserting more than one disc into the slot at the same time, or attempting to play a scratched or damaged disc may damage the CD player. When using the CD player, play only discs in good condition without labels, load one disc at a time, and do not place foreign objects, liquids, or debris on the player or near the loading slot.
