Note: The rear door is heavy, so at least two people will be required to perform these operations.
Removal
1. Removal of the gas spring is shown in illustrations 17.1a-c.
Installation
2. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
17.1a. Open the rear door up to the limit and unscrew the gas spring fastening |
17.1b. Support the rear door and press the lower end of the spring, releasing it from the stud with a ball end |
17.1v. Using a Torx key, unscrew the screw securing the gas spring to the door frame and remove the gas spring
