1. Using a small open-end wrench, unscrew the antenna mast (see illustration). Be extremely careful - the key may slip and scratch the car body. To protect the paintwork, it is recommended to cover the antenna base with special tape.

2. If replacing the base/cable, remove the glove box and disconnect the lower rear section of the inner fender liner (see chapter 11).

3. Disconnect the antenna mast cable and the radio receiver cable - the connector is located deep, under the right edge of the instrument panel. Tie a guide piece of wire to the end of the cable. When performing the procedure in the wheel well, pull the cable and sealing ring through the hole in the body panel into the wheel well.

4. Performing the procedure in the engine compartment, unscrew the screws of the base on which the mast is located, then pull out the base together with its cable (see illustration).

5. Tie the new cable to the guide piece of wire, then slowly and carefully pull it into the wing. Do not disturb the original cable route.

6. If you plan to replace the extension cable (located between the antenna base cable and the radio receiver cable), remove the glove box and passenger airbag (see subsection 28). Disconnect the cable from the clips located along the top edge of the instrument panel and disconnect it from the radio cable and the antenna base cable.

7. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
