Instrument cluster — removal and installation (Chevrolet Trailblazer 1)

            0

Warning: The vehicles described in this manual are equipped with a Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), also known as an air bag system. Before carrying out work in the area where the elements of this system are located, it is necessary to disconnect its power supply, since accidental deployment of the airbags can result in serious injury (see subsection 28).

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable (see chapter 1).

2. Remove the left soundproofing panel and the bumper located at knee level (see chapter 11).

3. When performing the procedure on a Chevrolet vehicle, it is necessary to remove the instrument panel trim frame (see chapter 11). If the procedure is performed on a GMC or Oldsmobile vehicle, the instrument panel plate must be removed.

4. Remove the screws that secure the dashboard to the instrument panel.

5. Pull the shield forward enough to allow the connectors on the back to be disconnected, then pull the shield out completely, first lifting its base.

6. Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
