Removal procedure



1. Remove the cover to remove the lower seat belt anchor.

2. Remove the bolt and remove the lower seat belt mount.

3. Remove the lower center pillar trim molding. See Section 9G, Interior Trim.

4. Remove the plastic cover to access the upper seat belt anchor.

5. Remove the screws and remove the seat belt guide.

6. Remove the bolt and remove the upper seat belt mount.

7. Remove the screw from the seat belt retractor holder.



8. Remove the bolt and remove the seat belt retractor mechanism.

8. Remove the bolt and remove the seat belt retractor mechanism.


Installation procedure



Caution: If the wrong screw is used to secure the retractor, the seat belt tensioner may not function properly in an accident, which could result in injury.


Note: Direct contact of dissimilar metals may result in rapid corrosion. Use proper fasteners to avoid premature corrosion.


1. Install the seat belt retractor mechanism using the bolt and screw.

Tighten

Tighten the seat belt retractor mounting bolt to 38 N·m (28 lb-ft).

Tighten the seat belt retractor mounting screw to 10 N·m (7 ft·lbs).

Tighten the seat belt retractor mounting screw to 10 N·m (7 ft·lbs).


2. Install the upper seat belt anchor using the bolt.

Tighten

Tighten the seat belt mounting bolt to 38 N·m (28 lb-ft).

3. Install the seat belt guide using screws.



Tighten

Tighten the seat belt guide mounting screws to 3 N·m (27 lbs.in).

4. Install the plastic seat belt mounting cover.

4. Install the plastic seat belt mounting cover.


5. Install the lower center pillar trim molding. See Section 9G, Interior Trim.

6. Attach the lower seat belt anchor with the bolt.

Tighten

Tighten the seat belt mounting bolt to 38 N·m (28 lb-ft).

7. Install the seat belt mounting cover.
