  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Test the driver's seat belt reminder light by buckling and unbuckling the driver's seat belt.
Is the system functioning properly?

  1. Fasten the driver's seat belt.
  2. Using the scan tool, observe the driver seat belt status parameter in the scan tool "SIR" data list.
Does the scan tool indicate that the driver seat belt status parameter is "Buckled"?

Replace the instrument cluster (IPC). See. Section 9E, Instrumentation/Driver Information System.

  1. Turn off the ignition.
  2. Disconnect the SDM wiring connector. See. Section 8B, Supplemental Inflatable Restraint System (SIR).
  3. Disconnect the driver's seat belt switch connector.
  4. Check for an open between the driver's seat belt switch low signal and reference circuit.
Has the cause been found and corrected?

Replace the driver's seat belt switch.
Is the replacement complete?

  1. Reconnect all components and connectors.
  2. Operate the system to check if the problem has been corrected.
