Electric fan of the heating system (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

2. Remove the glove box. See section 9E, "Instruments/Driver Information System".



3. Remove the top footwell cover. See section 9E, "Instruments/Driver Information System".

4. Remove the motor and seal from the heater/air distributor housing by carefully pulling the motor straight down and out.

5. Loosen the screws securing the electric motor to the heater/air distributor housing.

Installation procedure

1. Install the motor, seal, and shock mount pads onto the heater/air distributor housing. Hold the electric fan in place.

2. Tighten the screws securing the electric fan to the heater/air distributor housing.



Tighten

Tighten the fan mounting screws to the heater/air distributor assembly to 6 N·m (53 lbs.in).

3. Connect the fan electrical connector.

4. Connect the negative battery cable.

5. Make sure the electric fan is functioning properly.

6. Install the top footwell cover. See section 9E, "Instruments/Driver Information System".

7. Reinstall the glove box. See section 9E, "Instruments/Driver Information System".
