Steering wheel — removal and installation (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Necessary equipment

Steering wheel puller KM-210-A

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.



2. Remove the air bag module (SIR). See section 8B, "Air Bags".

3. Remove the steering wheel nut.

Important: To ensure proper installation of the steering wheel, make appropriate marks on the steering column shaft and steering wheel.

4. Remove the steering wheel using the KM-210-A steering wheel puller.

Installation procedure

1. Align the corresponding marks on the steering wheel and the steering column shaft. Turn the turn signal switch on the steering wheel to the left.

2. Loosen the steering wheel nut.

Tighten

Tighten the steering wheel nut to 41 N·m (30 ft·lbs).

3. Install the air bag module (SIR). See section 8B, "Air Bags".

4. Connect the negative battery cable.
