Removal procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the intermediate shaft from the column shaft by unscrewing the upper pinch bolt. See "Intermediate shaft, hinge and front panel seal" in this section.

3. Disconnect the steering angle sensor connector.
4. Slide the steering angle sensor up to remove it from the mounting bracket.

5. Remove the steering angle sensor by unscrewing it from the mounting bracket and sliding it down the column shaft.

Installation procedure
1. Slide the steering angle sensor upward until it fits into the hole in the mounting bracket.
2. Install the steering angle sensor into the groove of the mounting bracket.
3. Connect the steering angle sensor connector.
4. Connect the negative battery cable.
5. If necessary, center the steering angle sensor after installation. See "Centering the steering angle sensor" in this section.
Centering the steering angle sensor
1. Park the car on a flat surface.
2. Perform wheel alignment. See section 2B, "Adjusting Wheel Alignment".
3. Set the steering wheel exactly to the center position and turn on the ignition.
4. Connect the diagnostic tool to the vehicle's diagnostic connector.
5. Select the ESP menu, which is the ABS submenu on the diagnostic tool. And then perform the steering angle sensor centering.
6. Check the steering angle sensor alignment by turning the steering wheel more than 5 degrees left and right.
7. Check and clear fault codes related to the steering angle sensor.
