Warning! Do not charge the battery if the hydrometer is clear or light yellow. Replace the battery instead. If the battery is hot to the touch and gas or acid is coming out of the vent, stop charging or reduce the charging current to avoid injury.
2. Check the hydrometer. If the green dot is visible, proceed to the load test procedure. If the indicator is dark but no green light is visible, charge the battery. To charge a removed battery, follow step "Charging a completely discharged battery" in this section.
3. Connect a voltmeter and a battery load tester to the battery terminals.
4. Apply 300A current for 15 seconds to remove voltage from the battery surface.
5. Remove the load.
6. Wait 15 seconds and apply a load of 270 A.
Important: The battery temperature should be assessed by touch, taking into account the ambient temperature over the previous several hours.
7. If the voltage does not fall below the specified minimum, the battery is normal and can be reinstalled. If the voltage is below the specified minimum, replace the battery. Follow step "Technical characteristics of the battery" in this section.
