Removal and installation the generator (Chevrolet Captiva 1)

Removal procedure

1. Disconnect the cable from the negative terminal of the battery.

2. Remove the decorative cover. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".

3. Remove the charge air cooler inlet hoses. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".



4. Remove the auxiliary belt. See Section 1B, "Engine Mechanical System - 2.0 Diesel".



5. Disconnect the generator connector.

6. Remove the B+ generator wiring harness

7. Remove the generator.

Installation procedure

1. Install the generator.

2. Tighten the nut securing the generator wire to the starter wire.

Tighten

Tighten the alternator bolts to 30 Nm (22.1 ft·lbs).

Tighten the B+ alternator wiring harness lock nut to 25 N·m (18.4 ft·lbs).
