Important: For the VM2.0S diesel fuel system to function properly, the fuel lines must be filled with fuel and free of air. If air gets into the fuel lines, the fuel system must be bled to remove the air before operating the vehicle. Air can enter the system in one of the following ways:
- The car ran out of fuel.
- The filter was removed for maintenance or replacement.
- For maintenance, fuel lines were removed or disconnected.
- The fuel pump was removed for maintenance.
- While the engine was running, the tap was opened to drain water from the fuel filter.
If one or more of the above events occur, air has entered the fuel system and the system must be bled before operating the vehicle.
1. Turn the ignition key to the ON position within 5 seconds.
Caution! Do not turn the ignition key to the START position. This may damage the injection pump.
2. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and wait 3 seconds.
3. Repeat procedures No.1 and 2 6 or 7 times.
Note: Fuel bleeding can be performed using a diagnostic tool.
