1. Engage first gear in a manual transmission or move the selector lever of an automatic transmission to the "P" position (parking), brake the car with the parking brake. Ask the passengers to leave the car. If you were towing a trailer, disconnect it from the car. To prevent accidental starting of the engine, remove the key from the ignition switch.

2. Place chocks under the wheels on the opposite side.

3. Open the trunk.

4. Grasp the spare wheel well cover handle...

5. ...and lift the lid.

6. Unscrew and remove the retainer...

7. ...then remove the spare wheel.

8. Remove the jack handle from the cassette...

9. ...and a jack.

10. Insert the curved end of the handle into the eye of the jack's power screw.

Note: This is what the jack looks like when ready for use.

11. Install the jack paw in the places specially provided for this purpose, located on the body sills near each wheel.

Note: At the place where the jack is installed, there is a special recess on the bottom of the car, into which the jack paw should fit.
Warnings: If possible, do not work under a vehicle that is raised on a jack, but if it is unavoidable, place additional supports under the body.

Additional supports should be installed only under places specially designed for lifting the car. Place a rubber or wooden pad between the support and the car body. Install the tripod support so that two of its legs are on the side of the car body and one is on the outside.
12. After using the jack, store it in the recess and close the tool compartment cover and the rear of the spare wheel well cover.
