1. Engage first gear in a manual transmission or move the selector lever of an automatic transmission to the "P" position (parking), brake the car with the parking brake. Ask the passengers to leave the car. If you were towing a trailer, disconnect it from the car. To prevent accidental starting of the engine, remove the key from the ignition switch.

2. Open the trunk lid.

3. Lift the spare wheel well cover.

NOTE: The spare wheel A and tool cassette B are located in a recess in the luggage compartment.

4. Remove the handle 2 from the cassette (figure 2.1)...


5. ... key 3 for wheel nuts...

6. ...and jack 5.
7. Insert the curved end of the handle into the eye of the jack's power screw and the handle into the rectangular hole in the lug wrench handle. Rotate the lug wrench clockwise to slightly extend the jack.

8. Place the jack under the body threshold. The jack should be perpendicular to the supporting surface. When using the jack on soft ground, place a beam or board under the base of the jack.

NOTE: The jack mounting locations are provided with recesses on the sill flanges.
9. If you are raising the vehicle to change a wheel, loosen the wheel nuts by half a turn before starting to lift.

10. Turn the lug wrench clockwise to raise the vehicle slightly.
11. Before finally raising the car with a jack to the required height, check again that the jack has not tilted to any side.
WARNING If possible, do not work under a vehicle raised on a jack, but if this is unavoidable, install additional supports under the body. Additional supports should be installed only under areas specifically designed for lifting the vehicle. Place a rubber or wooden pad between the support and the vehicle body. Install the tripod support so that two of its legs are on the side of the vehicle body and one is on the outside.

12. After using the tools, place them in the cassette. If you removed the cassette from the trunk, place the cassette in the trunk niche box.
13. Close the niche cover.
WARNING Before driving again after replacing a damaged tire, stow and securely fasten the removed tire, jack, and tools. If tools and other items are not stowed, the driver and passengers may be seriously injured by these items in the event of sudden braking or an accident.
